Stowage Sack

I first realized the importance of storage bags because of a lipstick.

During a business trip, I was rushing to rummage through my suitcase. The moment I opened the large bag, my lipstick rolled out, sliding down the hotel sink and into the drain. I squatted on the floor staring at that dark hole for a long time-not because I felt sorry for the lipstick, but because I suddenly realized that many of life's awkward moments could actually be solved with a simple bag.

Later, we made this set of storage bags. Not for anything special, just underwear, cosmetics, data cables, and other odds and ends. The transparent design was my idea-no more fumbling in the dark to find things; you can see at a glance which compartment your lipstick is in.

We spent a long time choosing the fabric. Polyester mesh is breathable, cotton-linen feels good to the touch, and spun fabric is so soft you can crumple it up and stuff it into any crevice. The zippers are made of size 3 or 5 nylon, and after 3,000 opening and closing tests, they're still slippery. The drawstring cotton rope is smooth to pull, and the opening is tight and won't come loose. What I care about most is the edging-every single detail is neatly finished, without any burrs or loose threads. After all, underwear and cosmetics are delicate items, and it's heartbreaking to damage either of them.

Someone asked me what the point of making such a small bag is. I said, when you open your suitcase and find your underwear in one bag, your charging cable in another, and your cosmetics neatly lined up waiting for you-that feeling of not having to rummage around is the meaning.
